Verona, NY – On March 5, 2022, at approximately 9:45 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Verona for a vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle, Dale M. Jenkins, 55, of Rome, NY, was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license.  Jenkins was arrested and transported to SP Syracuse where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .22%. 

Additionally, Jenkins has two prior DWI convictions within the last 10 years and is required to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device.  As a result, he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; both Class D Felonies, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree; a Class E Felony, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with no Ignition Interlock Device; a Class A Misdemeanor.

Jenkins was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Verona Court on March 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
