Routine Traffic stop leads to a drug arrest

On Friday July 3rd, New York State Police initiated a routine traffic stop in the Town of VanEtten on State Route 224. The driver of the vehicle, Robin Young, age 43 of VanEtten, was unable to produce a driver’s license or a vehicle registration. Young was very nervous speaking with police and when asked why, she told police that there was methamphetamine in a cosmetic pouch on the backseat of the vehicle. The drugs were located by police and Young was arrested for Criminal Possession of a controlled substance and is to appear at the Town of VanEtten court at a later date.
