On September 7, 2021, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 27-year-old Travis T. Blanchard of Schenectady, for Grand Larceny 3rd degree (D felony), attempted Grand Larceny 3rd degree (E felony), and Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree (D felony).

Blanchard is accused of cashing three fraudulent checks totaling over $12,000, at separate Pioneer Bank locations in the Capital District. Travis attempted to cash checks at two other locations but was turned away. An investigation was opened by State Police after the victim reported that they had been contacted by Pioneer Bank regarding the validity of the checks, which were being cash against the victim’s business account.

Troopers located Blanchard in the city of Schenectady, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was processed at SP Latham and arraigned in Colonie Town Court and Brunswick Town Court. He was released under the supervision of probation by both courts. He is due in Colonie Town Court on September 8, 2021 and Brunswick Town Court on September 15, 2021.
