On October 2, 2019, State Police in Saratoga arrested 35-year-old Anatoliy Borts of Schenectady, for Felony Driving While Intoxicated (E felony).
At approximately 2:45 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a vehicle at the intersection of Middle Line Road and State Route 67 in Ballston Spa with an unresponsive subject behind the wheel.
A witness had contacted police when the light turned green at the intersection and the car in front of them did not move. The witness approached the vehicle and made numerous attempts to wake the operator, who they found unconscious in the driver’s seat. They were unsuccessful.
When Troopers arrived, they found Anatoliy Borts behind the wheel of a white ford van that was stopped in the roadway. As the Trooper tried waking Borts, he began to regain consciousness and was asked to step out of the vehicle.

While speaking with Borts, the Trooper could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage, and observed multiple signs of intoxication. Borts was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, and was taken into custody.
Borts was transported to SP Saratoga where he provided a breath sample of .17% B.A.C. He was issued an appearance ticket for Milton Town Court on October 9, 2019 at 6:00p.m.
