Troopers stationed at SP Princetown arrested a Schenectady woman for the Class D Felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (cocaine) and three counts of the Class A Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 7th following an arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Windy M. Lyon, age 41, was arrested following a vehicle stop on I-890 near Exit 6 in the City of Schenectady late Sunday evening.  During the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, Troopers were able to detect the odor of burnt marijuana and observed signs of impairment. Lyon was administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she failed, and was taken into custody.  Sunsequent to her arrest, Lyon was found to be in possession of more than one gram of cocaine as well as marijuana and MDMA and Oxycodone pills.

Lyon was transported to SP Princetown where she provided a breath sample revealing no alcohol impairment.  An evaluation was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert which determined that Lyon was impaired.  Lyon provided a blood sample for lab analysis.

Lyon was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (cocaine), and numerous other misdemeanor charges stemming from the incident.

Lyon was processed and released on traffic and appearance tickets.  She is due in Schenectady City Court on August 16, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. to answer the charges.
