On July 12, 2020, State Police in Cobleskill arrested 58-year-old Scott Kleinberger of Sharon, for Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (D felony), Grand Larceny 3rd degree (D felony), and Criminal Contempt 1st degree (E felony).

State Police responded to a town of Sharon residence on Sunday after the homeowner found Scott Kleinberger using a tractor to pull a 2013 Patriot box trailer across their hay field. The homeowner confronted Kleinberger and observed that the trailer didn’t have any wheels, Kleinberger was asked to leave the property and come back with wheels for the trailer. Later that evening the homeowner went to check and see if the trailer had been removed and found it demolished. Investigation determined that Kleinberger did not have the owner’s permission to take the trailer and that the owner had a full stay away order of protection against him.

State Police located Kleinberger at a Cobleskill residence where he was taken into custody. He was additional charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd degree (A misdemeanor) after it was found that the owner of the home he was at also had a full stay away order of protection against him.

Kleinberger was transported to SP Cobleskill for processing and subsequently arraigned in Carlisle Town Court. He was remanded to Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $800 cash or $25,000 bond. He is due in Sharon Town Court on August 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
