PRESS RELEASE

On December 19th, 2020, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Kevin Cole, 56, of Sherman, for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree.

The Troopers received a report of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle on Cheney Road in Ashville. While the Troopers were enroute, the vehicle was reported by witnesses driving erratically on several roads in the Ashville, Stow and Sherman areas. The vehicle pulled into a driveway on Franklin Street in Sherman and the driver, identified as Cole, was placed under arrest after the Trooper found Cole to be intoxicated. Cole was transported to SP Jamestown where Cole refused to provide a breath sample. As Cole’s driving record revealed two DWI convictions within the preceding 10 years, the charge was upgraded to a felony. Cole’s license was also permanently revoked. Cole was then processed and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
