*UPDATE*
On October 1, 2019 at approximately 6:00 A.M., Troopers out of SP Fredonia responded to the Nobles Farm on Route 83 in the town of Cherry Creek for a possible shooting.  Further investigation reveals that the only victim and farm owner, Nelson Nobles, 53 of Cherry Creek, NY was shot multiple times.  Nobles was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center and is in guarded condition.  Pine Valley Central School were closed on October 1, 2019 for precautionary measures due to the proximity to the incident, but this incident is not believed to further endanger community or the school.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and NYSP Forensic Investigation Unit are assisting with this investigation.

**A reward of up to $2,500 from Crime Stoppers Western New York is being offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the persons responsible for the shooting of a family farmer in Cherry Creek, NY on October 1, 2019. Citizens are urged to come forward with information on this incident.
