Silver Creek man arrested for DWI in Cuba

On June 5, 2021, SP Amity Troopers arrested Michael C. Cagney, 29, of Silver Creek, NY for Driving While Intoxicated.

During a traffic stop on South Street in the village of Cuba, Troopers observed Cagney exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication and determined he had been operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Cagney was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.08% BAC. He was also discovered to have an outstanding extraditable warrant issued in McKean County, PA.

Cagney was arraigned and remanded to the Allegany County Jail without bail while awaiting extradition. He is due to appear in Cuba Town Court in August.
