PRESS RELEASE

On Thursday June 4, 2020 at approximately 8:25pm a peaceful protest of approximately 500 people entered the Southern State Parkway at exit 24 on the Southern State Parkway, Nassau County, town of Hempstead.  The Southern State Parkway was closed from the Meadowbrook State Parkway to the Wantagh State Parkway in both directions during the protest.  The protest was peaceful with no injuries and no arrests. Once the roadway was clear of all pedestrians the roadway was fully reopened at approximately 10:25pm.  The State Police was assisted by the Nassau County Police Department during the protest.
