SP Fredonia makes two arrests for Driving While Intoxicated
Over the weekend, Troopers out of SP Fredonia made two arrests for Driving While Intoxicated from two separate accidents in Chautauqua County.
On Friday, August 20, 2021 at 3:30pm Troopers arrested Taran J. Mosher, 23, of Forestville, NY for Driving While Intoxicated after he crashed his motorcycle on Main St. in the village of Cherry Creek. Mosher, traveling at an unsafe speed and performing a “wheelie” stunt, lost control of his motorcycle. He was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for minor injuries where patrols noted signs of impairment. Mosher consented to a blood test and patrols are awaiting the results.
On Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 04:25pm Troopers responded to an accident on State Route 83 near Zahm Road in the town of Villenova. Investigation and witness statements revealed that Justin M. Stanfield, 34, of Silver Creek, had drove off the roadway and crashed his vehicle after attempting to pass the vehicle in front of him. Troopers noted Stanfield had obvious signs of impairment, as well as failure of standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Stanfield was arrested and transported to SP Fredonia, where a chemical breath test showed him to have a .09% BAC.
Both were released on appearance tickets and traffic tickets for their respective courts later this month.
