On October 25, 2022, members of the New York State Police Troop E , Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), Troop E K9, Troop E Uniform and the Elmira Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a methamphetamine investigation in Hector, NY.  

Members of law enforcement executed a search warrant on State Route 227 in the town of Hector and seized approximately 32 grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials, digital scales, and cellular phones.  

As a result of the investigation, Robert Bump, age 51, Michael Barsavage, age 65, and Donald Vertoske, age 48, all residing in Burdett, NY were arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree - intent to sell and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.       

All three subjects were remanded to the Schuyler County jail to await arraignment.  

The arrests were the result of a several month-long investigation conducted by the New York State Police and the Elmira Police Department.
