PRESS RELEASE

***UPDATE:  NAMES RELEASED***

Despite life-saving measures taken by emergency responders, the crash involving a 2006 Porsche Cayenne and a Thruway platform lift truck, claimed the life of 70-year-old, Thomas B. Sweat, of Buffalo, NY.  Sweat was traveling eastbound in the left lane when, for reasons still under investigation, his Porsche veered off the left side of the road.  The vehicle corrected into the lane before overcorrecting back to the left shoulder where he struck the back end of the Thruway truck.

Thruway employee, 52-year-old, Christopher Cady, of Sherman, NY, was in the truck at the time of the collision and suffered only minor injuries.

Angela Singletary, 57, of Buffalo, NY, was the passenger in the Porsche.  She was air lifted by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center (a correction from previously mentioned Brooks Memorial).  It was determined that she suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
