State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on the Southern State Parkway

PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, at approximately 2:27 pm, the State Police received a call for a crash westbound on the Southern State Parkway west of exit 37, in the town of Babylon, Suffolk County.  Michael Simeone, 58 years-old of Massapequa, NY, was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he left the roadway and struck a light pole in the right shoulder.  Mr. Simeone’s motorcycle continued westbound, crossed all three lanes of traffic and struck the center median guiderail where he was ejected from the motorcycle.  Mr. Simeone was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and died of his injuries. 

 

This crash is currently under investigation and the State Police is asking for any witnesses to the crash or anyone with any information to call (631) 756-3300.
