On December 14, 2022, at approximately 2:36 p.m., State Troopers in Rochester initiated a traffic stop on a motorist on Laser Street in the city of Rochester.
The operator was identified as Philippe Sheppard, age 25, of Rochester.
There were also three passengers, one male identified as Philippe’s brother, Paijon Sheppard, age 22, and 2 juvenile males all from Rochester.
A large quantity of marijuana was observed in plain view, and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an illegal loaded .40 caliber handgun.
Philippe Sheppard was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree.
The additional defendants were all charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
The Sheppard brothers were transported to Monroe County Jail to await morning arraignment on December 15, 2022.
The juvenile defendants will be handled in Youth Part Court.
