On September 21, 2020 State Police arrested Elijah Bernard, 23, of Albany for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property Greater than $3,000 (a class D felony) and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree (a class A misdemeanor).

At approximately 9:42 a.m. State Police of Troop G became involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle in the City of Albany which ended with Troopers locating the fleeing vehicle disabled, from striking a curb and street sign in the area of W. Lawrence St. and Lancaster St.  After a foot pursuit, State Police took Bernard into custody as the driver of the stolen vehicle.  Bernard was not injured in the accident.  The vehicle had been reported stolen in the Town of Glenville.  Bernard was additionally charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree (a class A misdemeanor), Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree (a class A misdemeanor) Resisting Arrest (a class A misdemeanor) Reckless Endangerment of Property (a class B misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property Greater than $1,000 (a class E felony).

Bernard was transported to SP Latham for processing and transported to Albany County Jail for arraignment.  Bernard is scheduled to appear in the City of Albany Court at a later date.
