PRESS RELEASE
 

On May 14, 2022, at approximately 4:29 p.m., State Police out of Big Flats conducted a traffic stop of a motorist State Route 414, in the town of Catlin. While interviewing the driver, Travis A. Dean, age 29, from Elmira, the trooper detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Dean, along with other signs of intoxication.  Dean submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, subsequently failing them.

Dean was transported back to SP Horseheads where he submitted to a breath test, with a reported value of .08% BAC.   Dean was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, and given appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Catlin Court on June 1, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
