On February 20, 2023, at about 10:54 a.m. Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Clifton Park for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. Stangle was identified as the driver, and the investigation determined his driver’s license was revoked due to a previous DWI conviction. Stangle also possessed controlled substances during the stop and tried to conceal them from the Trooper and destroy evidence.
Stangle was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) evaluated him. A sample was taken to determine the drug content of his blood upon completion of the evaluation which indicated he was under the influence of drugs.
