On May 23, 2022, State Police arrested Austin M. Taylor, 23, of Beekmantown, for Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree.

On May 23, 2022, at approximately 2:23 p.m., Troopers on patrol observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 9 in the town of AuSable at a high rate of speed.

Troopers attempted to pull the vehicle over when the driver fled at an increased speed onto Chasm Road.

The pursuit was briefly terminated then re-initiated by Clinton County Sheriff’s units on State Route 9 in the town of Peru and ended in the Sam’s Club parking lot in the town of Plattsburgh.

Taylor, the driver, and sole occupant was taken into custody by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department then turned over to State Police to be processed.

Taylor was issued an appearance ticket and is due to appear in the town of AuSable Court on June 1, 2022.
