Troop F Commander
On October 7, 2021 at approximately 5 p.m., state police from the Ellenville barracks stopped a 2013 Hyundai Sonata on State Route 52 in the town of Wawarsing for several vehicle and traffic law violations. While speaking to the operator of the vehicle, Symone Quinones, 29 of Monticello, troopers learned that she was driving on a suspended license. Troopers then interviewed the passenger Jonathan Rodriguez, age 30 of Bronx, NY. who was found to be in possession of a pair of plastic knuckles. While speaking with troopers, Rodriguez became verbally and physically resistant. He then fell on the ground and attempted to remove something from his pants, later determined to be 37 grams of Cocaine. He eventually was taken into custody along with the Quinones.
Jonathan Rodriguez was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree- Intent to sell, all felonies. He was also charged with the misdemeanors Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. He was arraigned in the Village of Ellenville Court in front of Judge Parker and remanded to Ulster County Jail.
Symone Quinones was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd degree. She was released on an appearance ticket.
