PRESS RELEASE
 

On May 2, 2022, at approximately 2:19 p.m., the State Police out of Big Flats conducted a traffic stop on a motorist on State Route 414, in the town of Catlin. While interviewing the driver, John E. Sommer, age 42, from Corning, multiple weapons were observed inside the vehicle. It was also determined that Sommer has a revoked New York State driver’s license.

Sommer was transported back to SP Horseheads where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree.  Sommer was given appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Catlin Court on May 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
