On June 29, 2020 troopers stopped a cargo van for a vehicle and traffic law violation. While interviewing the operator of the vehicle, troopers learned that the van contained a large amount of fireworks with a value of $5,000. While troopers were continuing to interview the operator of the van, another vehicle came to the scene. The operator of that vehicle identified himself as Anthony Curl Jr, age 46 of Delancy, NY. Mr. Curl stated that the fireworks were his and he placed them in the van. He was charged with Unlawful Sale of Fireworks, a misdemeanor.  The New York State Police were assisted by members of the New York City Police Department.
