State Police from SP New Scotland with the help of Albany County Sheriff’s Office and Bethlehem Police Department charged William C. Sossei, IV, 37, of Richmondville, with Arson 3rd degree (a class C felony), Reckless Endangerment (a class B misdemeanor) and Trespass (a violation).

On Sunday October 4, 2020 at approximately 10:30 p.m., State Police received a call for a vehicle fire in the Town of New Scotland.  After the fire had been extinguished by the Onesquethaw Fire Department, the Fire Chief and Troopers examined the vehicle finding several indications that the fire had been started intentionally.  Fire personnel then reported to Troopers that they observed a male hiding in the bushes near the scene.  That male, later identified as William C. Sossei, IV, was the registered owner of the vehicle.  Sossei was taken into custody and processed at SP Latham.  He was arraigned virtually in the Town of New Scotland Court and released under supervision.  Sossei is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Scotland Court on November 5, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
