State Police arrest Northumberland man for illegally possessing a firearm

On March 20, 2023, State Police of Greenwich arrested Michael J. Eggleston, 23, of Northumberland, NY, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.

On March 20, 2023, at about 9:47 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on State Route 4 in Fort Ann, NY, for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  Eggleston was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. Further investigation discovered an illegally possessed firearm and an illegal high-capacity magazine within the vehicle belonging to Eggleston. The firearm and magazine were seized.

Eggleston was arrested and transported to SP Granville for processing. He was transported to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
