On August 3, 2022, State Police in Brunswick arrested Brian Stevens, 59, of Petersburgh for Burglary in the Second Degree, a class “C” felony, Assault in the Third Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor and Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree, a class “B” misdemeanor.


An investigation determined that in the late hours of August 2, 2022, Stevens entered a home in the town of Hoosick without permission, damaged property, and assaulted the resident.  Stevens knew the victim and had been previously told he was not allowed on the property.


Stevens was arrested and transported to SP Brunswick for processing.  He was arraigned at the Hoosick Village Court and was released on his own recognizance.   


On August 4, 2022, State Police in Brunswick arrested Stevens for Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.  An additional investigation determined within hours of being released Stevens violated an order of protection issued during Stevens’ arraignment, listing the victim as the protected party.  He was arraigned on the additional charge at the Hoosick Town Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash or bond.
