On November 19, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. State Police Middletown responded to a road rage incident that occurred on State Route 32 in the town of Crawford. Troopers determined that Peter Tighe, age 32 of Port Jervis was operating a 2012 Subaru Outback when he and an operator of 2011 Toyota Tundra were both traveling north on State Route 302 when a road rage incident took place. The road rage incident continued onto County Road 17 going east. Tighe stopped at a stop sign on Collabar Road and County Route 17 and got out of his vehicle and approached the operator of the Tundra. A verbal altercation ensued and Tighe allegedly used a military style knife to cause damage to the victim’s vehicle. He then returned to his vehicle and fled the scene. Troopers were able to locate Tighe and his vehicle.

Peter Tighe was charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, a felony and Menacing 2nd degree, a misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Crawford Court on December 15, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
