On October 15, 2020 State Police received a report of a personal injury auto accident on Interstate 87 in a work zone in the Town of Malta.  Kelsey A. Irving 29 of Queensbury was driving in the work zone when she made a lane change and collided with the rear of a stopped truck that was hauling paving materials in the worksite.  During the interview of Irving Troopers detected signs of intoxication and Irving admitted to consuming alcohol.  Irving was transported to Saratoga Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Irving was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated with a prior conviction within 10 years and Reckless Driving (a misdemeanor).  She is due in the Town of Malta Court on November 18, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.  Thankfully, no others were injured during the collision as there were several workers close to the crash.

The State Police would like to remind everyone of the importance of safe driving when encountering construction, maintenance and emergency operations along state highways.
