State Police arrest a Rochester resident for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.

On March 23, 2023, at approximately 5:51 p.m., the State Police conducted a traffic stop on Hudson Avenue, in the city of Rochester of a motorist who committed a vehicle and traffic violation. The operator possessed a suspended New York State Driver’s License and the additional three occupants did not possess a valid driver’s license. While interviewing the rear passenger later identified as Tajmier J. Smith, age 20, of Rochester, trooper’s observed a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun in the front pouch of his sweatshirt. 

The operator was issued the applicable traffic tickets and Smith was transported to SP Rochester and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Weapon, 2^nd Degree and taken to the Monroe County Jail.
