State Police arrest Schenectady man after he crashed a car and broke into a home

On February 17, 2023, State Police of Saratoga arrested Eliezer Gaetan, 41, of Schenectady, NY, for Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.  

On February 17, 2023, at about 1:18 p.m., Troopers responded to a one-car crash in the area of Charlton Road and Middle Line Road in Ballston, NY. The vehicle’s driver was not on the scene when Law Enforcement arrived but was located inside a neighboring residence. After crashing the vehicle, the investigation determined that Gaetan entered a neighboring residence using force without permission and began damaging the building and items inside. No one inside the residence was injured. 

Gaetan was taken into custody and transported to Saratoga Hospital for medical evaluation. Once released, he was processed at SP Saratoga. Gaetan was arraigned at the Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, a $50,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
