On October 14, 2022, State Police arrested Nicholas C. Hendricks, 29, of Brooklyn, NY, and Terry S. Walley, 28, of Troy, NY, for Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree. Kayla Vargas, 25, of New York City, was arrested for two counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree.
On October 14, 2022, at about 1:18 p.m., Troopers were called to the Walmart located in Queensbury, NY, for the complaint of a customer attempting to pay for merchandise with forged U.S. currency. The suspect, later identified as Vargas, had left the location in a vehicle before law enforcement’s arrival. At about 1:57 p.m., an additional State Police unit located the suspect vehicle on I-87 in the town of Wilton, NY. A traffic stop was conducted, and Vargas, Hendricks, and Walley were taken into custody. The investigation located additional forged U.S. currency in the vehicle.
All three were transported to SP Wilton for processing and were arraigned at the Wilton Town Court. Hendricks and Walley were remanded without bail to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility. Vargas was released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
These three individuals are suspects in other crimes involving the use of forged U.S. currency throughout the Capital Region and additional charges are anticipated.
