On October 5, 2020 state police arrested Stephen Parisi, age 51, from the town of Wawayanda following a domestic incident that occurred in the town of Shawangunk on August 12, 2020. It was reported that Parisi physically abused the complainant by strangulation causing them to lose consciousness. On September 23, 2020, Parisi’s attorney contacted that state police and stated that he will be turning himself in when the Town of Shawangunk court is back in session. On September 24, 2020, Parisi contacted the complainant and threatened them with physical harm if the charges were not dropped.

Stephen Parisi was charged with Strangulation 2nd degree and Intimidating a Victim, both felonies. He was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court in front of Town Judge Shaheen. He was issued and appearance ticket with a return date of October 6, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. for the Town of Shawangunk Court.
