State Police arrest Winthrop man after he ran from a Malta traffic stop

On March 19, 2023, State Police of Saratoga arrested Sean L. Douglas, 44, of Winthrop, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the Third Degree, Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Resisting Arrest and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. 

On March 19, 2023, at about 7:57 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Malta, NY, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver, later identified as Douglas, provided false identifying information and did not possess a valid driver’s license. Following an investigation, while taking Douglas into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, He resisted arrest and fled on foot from Troopers. He was quickly taken into custody and transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood. 

Douglas was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Malta Town Court on April 13, 2023, and released to a sober third party.
