On January 4, 2022 at approximately 7:37 a.m. State Police Ellenville responded to a residence on State Route 209 in the town of Rochester for a report of a past burglary. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Audi A4, a television and a computer were missing from the residence.
On January 5, 2021 the New Paltz Police Department advised the State Police that the stolen vehicle was located unoccupied behind a local restaurant On Old Route 299 in New Paltz. The investigation led State Police to Michael Devoll, age 35 from the town of Ulster.
On January 10, 2022, State Police arrested and charged Michael Devoll with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 3rd degree and Burglary 2nd degree, both felonies. He was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail.
