On February 18, 2021 at approximately 6:50 p.m. state troopers from Catskill responded to a local business for a report of a counterfeit $100 bill that was passed by a customer. During the investigation, troopers learned that the customer regularly came to the store. Troopers learned that the customer was Sarah Jaghamin, age 28 from Catskill. While speaking with Jaghamin, troopers learned that she also forged a name on a check from a closed account and used that check at a local hotel. She was charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument and Forgery 1st degree, both felonies, She was also charged with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor.
Sarah Jaghamin was virtually arraigned before Judge Dorpfeld in the Town of Catskill Court and released on her own recognizance. A return court date will be determined at a later date.
