PRESS RELEASE
 
On June 6, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., state police Middletown along with officers from the Town of Deerpark Police responded to Forrest Drive in the town of Deerpark for a report of a large fight in progress. Upon arrival troopers began to interview individuals who witnessed the fight. One victim was reported to have been struck in the face and received an injury to his eye. He was transported by EMS to Garnet Medical Center for evaluation. The victim was diagnosed with an injury to his right eye, a facial laceration and a concussion. They were able to identify the individual who caused the injuries. Further investigation revealed that Dillion Kopp, 21 of the city of Middletown was involved in the fight and did strike the victim numerous times causing the above listed injuries.
 
On June 10, 2021 at 6:10 p.m., Dillion Kopp turned himself in at the state police barracks in Middletown. He was placed under arrest and charged with Assault 2nd degree, a felony and Assault 3rd degree, a misdemeanor. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Mount Hope Court on July 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
