On April 24, 2021 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a trooper from the Catskill barracks patrolling State Route 32 in the town of Cairo stopped a 2004 Nissan Altima traveling west in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The trooper identified the operator of the vehicle as Amar Keitt, age 46 of Hudson, NY. While speaking with Keitt, the trooper learned that he was driving with a suspended license. During the investigation, the trooper observed Keitt to be in possession a large plastic bag containing several small glassine baggies that contained 2.3 grams of crack-cocaine. While searching the vehicle the trooper located 11.2 grams of heroin. Keitt was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, both felonies. He was additionally charged with the misdemeanors Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 2nd degree.

Keitt is currently on parole and was arraigned by Justice Dorfeld if the Town of Coxsackie Court. He was remanded to Greene County Jail without bail. He was a return date to the Town of Cairo Court on April 30, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
