State Police arrested a Shreveport, Louisiana man on weapon charges.

On May 10, 2023, at approximately 9 p.m. members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a 2007 Honda Civic in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law traveling on Broadway and Liberty Street in the village of Monticello. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Christopher R. Clinton, age 29 from Shreveport, Louisiana. While speaking with Clinton, the Trooper observed a Glock handgun on the passenger front seat. Clinton was asked to exit the vehicle and was detained. The handgun was identified as a Glock 42 .380 caliber pistol containing a loaded magazine. Troopers also located a box which contained additional magazines and .380 ammunition.

Clinton was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree; Loaded Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, both felonies. He was arraigned in the Village of Liberty Court in front of Judge Stabak and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail/$1,5000 secured bond/$10,000 partially secured bond.
