PRESS RELEASE
 
The New York State Police announce the arrest of Jesus Torres, age 31 from the town of Goshen for Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child (A Felony), Rape 1st (B Felony), Criminal Sexual Act 1st ( B Felony), Sex Abuse 1st ( D Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child ( A Misdemeanor). On October 16, 2022, the State Police Monroe barracks investigated allegations that Torres had sexual conduct with a child who was less than 13 years old.  On October 18, 2022, after learning that Torres had fled the state to avoid being arrested the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was contacted and provided assistance attempting to locate Torres.  On November 5, 2022, Torres was located by the FBI and State Police in the Town of West Orange, New Jersey. He was arrested and transported back to New York.  Torres was arraigned on November 6, 2022, by Honorable Justice McCathern from the Town of Tuxedo Court. Torres was remanded to Orange County Jail with his next court appearance scheduled for November 10, 2022, in the town of Goshen.  The State Police were assisted by the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, the Orange County Child Abuse Unit, the Town of Goshen Police Department, the West Orange Police Department (New Jersey), the Marta Police Department (Georgia), the Chamblee Police Department (Georgia), the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the US Attorney’s Office.
