UPDATE: On October 8, 2020, State Police recovered the decoys at a location off of County Route 14 in the town of Canton. The State Police Underwater Recovery Team utilized an airboat to access the Grasse River and located the decoys stashed on shore in an area of tall grass. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Christopher Nye at SP Canton at (518) 873-2776. 



The New York State Police in Canton is investigating the larceny of approximately 300 Canadian goose decoys from the Grasse River, in the town of Canton, south of Morley. They were stolen sometime between approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020 and 6:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Christopher Nye or Trooper Justin Dowdle at (518) 873-2776.
