The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Orange County announces the arrest of Jamarr Smith, age 22 from the city of Newburgh. The New York State Police working in conjunction with Orange County Child Protective Services, received a hotline report regarding an adult male engaging in sexual conduct with a child less than seventeen years old. The joint investigation led to Mr. Smith’s arrest with the assistance of the City of Newburgh Police Department. Mr. Smith was arrested and subsequently charged with the following violations of the New York State Penal Law; one (1) count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, a C Felony, one (1) count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a child, a D Felony, one (1) count of Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child, an E Felony, two (2) counts of  Rape 3rd Degree, an E Felony, and one (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, an A Misdemeanor. 

Jamarr Smith was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court before Town Judge Martini. He remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 USD cash bail and $25,000.00 bail bond. Mr. Smith is scheduled to reappear in the City of Newburgh Court on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 9 a.m.

The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit is asking anyone who may have been victimized by Jamarr Smith (aka Jay; aka Sheesh Dior; aka Dirty Dior) to contact the NYSP Orange County Child Abuse Unit at 845-291-2836 or at the Middletown barracks at 845-344-5300.
