Troop K Commander

Greenport, NY - On March 13, 2020, State Troopers from Troop K – Zone 1 in Columbia County conducted a DWI sobriety checkpoint at the Rip Van Winkle Bridge approach in the town of Greenport.  As a result, the following arrests were made:


John Carr III, 35, of Red Hook, NY, for DWI

Sylvester Collins, 60, of Hudson, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug and Criminal Possession of Marihuana 4th Degree

Alexandra Herrington, 23, of Leeds NY, for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

Martin Lopez Jr., 21, of Mount Marion, NY, for DWAI-Alcohol

Jason Osborn, 45, of Catskill, NY, for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

Christine Rouse, 54, of Germantown, NY, for DWI (Refusal), Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree

William Titherington, 52, of Lake Katrine, NY, for DWAI-Alcohol


All were processed and ordered to appear in Greenport Court at a later date.


Additionally, Frank Robertson Jr., 23, of Taghkanic, NY was stopped on ST-23B in Claverack for erratic operation and subsequently arrested for DWI.  He was processed and ordered to appear in Claverack Court at a later date.


State Police Captain David Kolb, Zone Commander in Columbia County, stated that while his agency has been actively involved in the state’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the State Police continue to fulfill their public safety mission to remove intoxicated and impaired drivers from the roadways throughout the county and the state.  “Last night your State Troopers were out, as they are every night, actively making Columbia County a safer place for everyone who lives, works, and visits”, Captain Kolb stated.
