On July 18, 2022, the New York State Police in Geneseo arrested John E. Slomka, age 38, of Kenmore, N.Y., and Tina M. Bredt, age 33, after a vehicle pursuit on I-390, in Livingston County. State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the operator, Slomka, who was operating a Dodge Caravan that displayed a stolen license plate.
Slomka failed to comply with troopers and a pursuit began on I-390 northbound in the town of Geneseo. Livingston County Sheriff Deputies utilized a tire deflation device, and the vehicle came to a stop.
The subjects were taken into custody, with the assistance of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, after a brief foot pursuit.
Troopers determined the vehicle was also reported stolen in July, of 2022, to the Niagara Falls Police Department.
Slomka was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 3rd Degree, a class “D” Felony, one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 5th Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor, and one count of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, 3rd Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
Bredt was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 3rd Degree, a class “D” Felony. After records check it was determined Slomka had one active warrant and Bredt had eight (8) total active warrants, all out of the Buffalo area. Both subjects were remanded to the Livingston County Jail pending centralized arraignment.
