On April 2, 2022, at approximately 3:10 a.m. State Police conducted a traffic stop of a motorist on State Route 104 in the city of Rochester for Speeding 83mph in 55mph speed zone. The operator, later identified as Shawn Davis, age 43, of Rochester was subsequently found to illegally be in possession of a loaded .22 caliber revolver with 5 rounds of ammunition. Davis was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Driving While Intoxicated and Speeding.
The passenger in the vehicle, Shay Pearson, age 41, of Rochester was subsequently found to illegally possess a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol with 6 rounds of ammunition. Pearson was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.
Davis and Pearson were transported to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment.
