State Police in Rochester arrest 2 Rochester residents for weapons possession.

 

 

 

 

 

On March 28, 2022, at approximately 3:10 p.m., SP Rochester Troopers working Operation G.I.V.E observed a vehicle with both the driver and front passenger not wearing their seat belts. Troopers pulled over this vehicle on Hollenbeck Street and spoke to the driver, Keishon Smith, age 22, of Rochester, NY.  As Troopers were speaking with Smith, he attempted to drive away and as patrols caught up to this vehicle, a loaded .380 handgun was thrown from the motor vehicle.  This handgun was recovered by Troopers and the suspect vehicle pulled over on St. Stanislaus street. Both the driver and his front passenger, Chace Smith, age 28,  were taken into custody. Both were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd Degree for having previous convictions, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th Degree, and Obstructing Governmental Administration. The driver was additionally charged with Unlawful Fleeing for not pulling over for police patrols. Both were transported to Monroe County Jail for arraignment on March 29^th.
