On January 21, 2023, at about 1:08 a.m. State Police of Brunswick stopped a vehicle on the Collar City Bridge in Troy, NY, for Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. The driver was identified as David J. Coddington II, 28, of Rensselaer, NY. Coddington was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where he recorded a 0.14% BAC. The investigation determined Coddington’s driving privileges had been revoked due to a refusal to submit to a chemical test during a previous unrelated incident. He was issued tickets returnable to the Troy City Court on February 6, 2023, and released to a sober party.
On January 21, 2023, at about 9:12 p.m. State Police of Cobleskill stopped a vehicle on Grand Street in the village of Schoharie, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Floyd A. Guernsey III, 60, of Schoharie, NY. Guernsey III was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Cobleskill for processing, where he recorded a 0.18% BAC. He was issued tickets returnable to the Schoharie Village Court on February 13, 2023, and released to a sober party.
On January 22, 2023, at about 4:02 a.m., State Police of Brunswick responded to a one-car crash into a utility pole and parked vehicle off State Route 40 in Schaghticoke, NY. The driver was identified as Patrick J. McLaughlin Jr., 23, of Johnsonville, NY. McLaughlin Jr. was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where he recorded a 0.24% BAC. He was issued tickets returnable to the Schaghticoke Town Court on February 6, 2023, and released to a sober party.
On January 23, 2023, at about 12:04 a.m. State Police of Princetown stopped to check on a vehicle on the shoulder of I-90 in Rotterdam, NY, and observed the vehicle had visible damage but no evidence of a crash in the immediate area. The driver was identified as Mark B. Forsti, 48, of Utica, NY. Forsti was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed at SP Princetown, where he recorded a 0.16% BAC. The investigation determined Forsti had a conditional driver’s license due to pending prosecution for an unrelated DWI arrest. He was issued tickets returnable to the Rotterdam Town Court on February 9, 2023, and released to a sober party.
On January 23, 2023, at about 6:10 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol received a complaint about a vehicle being driven erratically. Troopers located the vehicle described and stopped it on State Route 7 at the I-87 interchange in Colonie, NY. The Driver was identified as Stacia Sheehan, 52, of Ballston Spa, NY. Sheehan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Latham for processing, where she refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of her blood. The investigation discovered Sheehan has previous DWI convictions in the last ten years. She was issued tickets returnable to the Colonie Town Court on February 1, 2023, and was turned over to the medical staff at Samaritan Hospital.
On January 26, 2023, at about 6:08 a.m. State Police out of the Wilton barracks responded to the area of Northern Pines Road in Wilton, NY, for the report of a plow truck that struck a utility pole and left the scene. The investigation identified the driver as Gregory S. Shaughnessy, 48, of Wilton, NY. Shaughnessy was located at his home and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to SP Wilton for processing, where he recorded a 0.21% BAC. He was issued tickets returnable to the Wilton Town Court on February 14, 2023. The road was shut down for multiple hours, while National Grid workers completed the necessary repairs to the utility pole.
