State Police investigate a 2 vehicle fatal accident in Canisteo.

On April 28, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., State Police were called to State Route 36 in the town of Canisteo for a two-vehicle fatal crash.

A preliminary investigation determined, Gayle M. Vanskiver 65, was traveling north on State Route 36 when her vehicle collided with a town of Troupsburg dump truck that was traveling southbound.  

Vanskiver was pronounced deceased at the scene and the truck operator was uninjured.

The investigation is continuing.
