On July 30, 2022, at about 12:20 p.m. State Police in Fonda responded to the report of a plane crash in Palatine. 

State Police of Fonda responded to the report of a plane crash with injuries in the area of Eaker Rd in Palatine, NY.  The preliminary investigation has determined that a privately owned single-engine airplane experienced a mechanical issue shortly after leaving the ground.  During the crash, the pilot sustained what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and was air lifted to Albany Medical Center by LifeNet of New York. 

State Police was assisted on scene by the Federal Aviation Administration, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, LifeNet of New York and St. Johnsville EMS

The investigation into the accident is still pending.
