On August 3, 2022, State Police arrested Andrew J. Bell, age 32 from Liverpool, NY for the following charges:

  • Robbery 3rd degree, a class “D” felony (NBT Bank)
  • Assault 2nd degree, a class “D” felony
  • Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, class “A” misdemeanor
  • Reckless endangerment 2nd degree, class “A” misdemeanor
  • Numerous Vehicle & Traffic violations

On August 3, 2022, a Cicero Police Officer located Bell’s vehicle, which was wanted in connection with two bank robberies in the area, at a park in Brewerton. Bell fled in his vehicle and a traffic pursuit was initiated which traveled on I-81 into Oswego County and then back south into Onondaga County. As the suspect vehicle continued onto Rt 31, Henry Clay Boulevard, and then onto Verplank Road, an Onondaga County Sheriff Deputy deployed stop sticks at the intersection of Verplank Road and Caughdenoy Road which disabled his vehicle.

Bell stopped his vehicle near the intersection of Caughdenoy and Mudd Mill Road where he was taken into custody without incident.

Bell was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center to await centralized arraignment.  He is currently on parole for a previous Robbery 1st arrest which occurred in East Syracuse in 2015.

The following agencies assisted in the investigation and with the successful capture of Andrew Bell:

  • Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office (including AIR 1)
  • Cicero Police Department
  • North Syracuse Police Department
  • Oswego County Sheriff’s Office
  • NYS Parole

State Police in Lysander is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the NBT Bank of Baldwinsville, located at the intersection of Rt. 31 and Willett Parkway in the town of Lysander.

On July 22, 2022, at 4:15 pm, a white male wearing a blue surgical mask, baseball cap, and a grey camouflage zipped jacket walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money.  No weapon was displayed.  He was last seen on foot leaving the bank and walking towards Willet Parkway (Radisson Development).

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
