On October 20, 2021, at approximately 12:52 p.m. State Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on I-87 in the town of Plattsburgh.

An investigation revealed that a 2019 Chevrolet box truck operated by 60-year-old Francis Daniels of Fair Haven, VT, rear-ended a DOT truck towing an attenuator trailer, and operated by 21-year-old Jayven M. Youngs of Ogdensburg. Youngs was stopped on the ramp from exit 38, attempting to enter I-87 south.  Both operators were transported to the University of Vermont Health Network at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh for non-life-threatning injuries.

State Police were assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
