Mr. Woodard has succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash.  
 

On May 18, 2023, at 2:13 p.m., State Police and the town of Geddes Police responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Fair Boulevard at Exit 7 (I-690)westbound in the town of Geddes.

The preliminary accident investigation has determined a 2021 Nissan, operated by Timothy J. Woodard, age 71, from Syracuse, NY, was traveling westbound on I-690 when he drove off the roadway, down an embankment, and struck a 2019 Ford pickup truck, operated by Christopher Buske, age 27 from Liverpool, NY which was stopped for a red light at the intersection of State Fair Boulevard and Exit 7 exit ramp. Woodard’s vehicle then rolled over and came to rest in a ditch off the westbound shoulder of State Fair Boulevard.

Woodard was transported to Upstate University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Buske was transported to Crouse Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Exit 7 was closed for several hours as the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
